Muse: Absolution

“Muse’s album Absolution was a powerful affair. Muse’s drummer Dom had seen our sketch of flying people but in a completely different context and asked if it could be adapted and interpreted more to their tastes. The image derives in part from “Where the Wild Things Are”. I think Dom felt they were the lost or even the last souls leaving forsaken earth, and that witnessing such a magical event bestowed absolution on the viewer – how I personally feel on seeing shooting stars.” – Storm Thorgerson
